Bolzano and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Those are the cities we visited in Italy and Germany, respectively. While in Austria we were within hours away from these border towns and making the drive was well worth it. Bolzano was wonderful- the town itself was small, but lively, and the food was amazing. We spent the afternoon walking around, eating gelato, and simply enjoying the Italian men....I mean atmosphere.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a great tourist city in Germany. It rests in the Bavarian Alps and the surrounding area is honestly breathtaking. We spent a day hiking in the Alps to various castle ruins and eating a fantastic lunch in the city.
